What instruments do you play? I currently play:
I include an assortment of cowbells, hanging bells, chimes, block & shakers as an integral part of my kit setup.
How Did You Get Started? Originally, the draw to music at a very young age came from The Beatles & The Monkeys, but they seem to have only acted as a catalyst since I quickly had a strong yearning to explore other music.
I was very fortunate to grow up with my friend - world class percussionist Yitzhak Isaac Attias. Our biggest influence in those early years was definately Santana but we also delved into Osibisa; Malo; Mongo Santamaria; Blood Sweat & Tears; Crosby Stills Nash & Young; Allman Brothers to name a few!
Who Or What Inspires Your Music? My music ear & influences progressed with time: Chick Corea; Pat Matheney; Steely Dan; John McLaughlin; Jeff Beck; Journey amongst many others.
What Was Your Most Memorable Gig? I lived in Israel for 3-1/2 years, in addition to studio work, I toured & played throughout the country extensively - playing all venues from small lounges to large halls.
Upcoming Tour Locations/Dates: I have since moved to Toronto, Ontario (Canada) in order to further my musical horizons!
Do You Have Any Other Comments To Share? Yoseph "Joe" Levy was born & grew up in Gibraltar, a British colony in the southern tip of Spain. Growing up in the sunny Mediterranean with Spain as a neighbouring country has always remained a strong influence in my musicianship. By age 15-16 years old I was already doing the club scene.
