Well, here it is Thursday night again. I had plans to paint a donut covered in sprinkles, or green mint flavored ice cream. I never made it to the store. Ah well. It’s better this way since I’d probably eat them! So I ended up painting one of my ever faithful friends, my Buddy Dog.

Without further ado, meet my dog in this 7 inches by 5 inches mini oil painting.

This small oil painting of my blue merle Australian Shepherd mix on a soft peach background is painted on canvas covered art board. It is 7 inches by 5 inches in size. It should be dry enough to ship around September 29, 2006. Purchase price: $19.95.

CD Of The Day

Whether you search for “Disturbed Young Hustlaz” or “Disturbed Young Hustlas” on the web, you’ll find quite a bit of buzz about this New Orlean’s Rap band. Much of the talk about the CD is in Russian, Japanese, or other languages I don’t speak. What you’ll probably not find is more than two of this CD.

If you are into hardcore Southern Gangsta Rap, you’ll want to get this CD.

You probably won’t find much information about this CD at Amazon or All Music. Yet, the modern Ska world raves about this group, Checkmate! and their debut CD, Revelation. And a revelation it is!

This Fresno, CA band, well known for their impressive hornwork in live performances, has put out a CD of eighteen tracks loaded with old school Ska driven by a Latin jazz backbeat.

If you’ve heard this band’s incredible musical skills with horns, guitar, organ, drums and bass, you’ll know this CD is well worth the investment. If you haven’t heard of Checkmate! yet, then you’ll not want to miss this soon-to-be-Ska-classic.
