If you don’t know Dougie, but enjoy James Taylor, you are in for a major treat.
Well known as the Scottish Folk singer/songwriter, Dougie MacLean has also enjoyed success in creating music for television dramas, stage productions and major motion pictures on both sides of the pond. He’s such a big name in Europe that he even has an event named after him, “The Dougie MacLean Weekend“. (Tickets to that event, which runs Thursday 26th – Sunday 29th October 2006, are said to be selling fast.)
If you can’t make that event, then here’s his wonderful CD, The Dougie MacLean Collection presented by Putumayo. On this CD are the best of his folk songs, which are described as “contemporary, yet timeless”.
