My Thought

Thursday, September 9th, 2010

Every generation thinks they were the first to experience pain, happiness, love, sex and other aspects of life. But imagine what could happen if we teach our children to care about other people. There may come a day when a new generation actually does experience something that no other generation has – peace on earth. – Cindy M. Douglass

Audra J Wins “Vintage Inspired” Custom ACEO

Monday, September 6th, 2010

Audra J was the winner of a Free custom ACEO* original oil painting on my facebook page at: Cindy Douglass, Artist on Facebook. To enter for the next random drawing of a winner, just go “Like” the page!

Audra asked for “Vintage Inspired”. Vintage seems to cover a lot of territory. I went searching through my house for vintage items to paint.

I don’t have Edwardian stuff, but I do have my grandmother’s rolling pin (1950’s), my other  grandmother’s cowbell from Germany (the strap is 1960’s, the cowbell may be older), background tiles on kitchen counter (sadly still in my kitchen from the 1970’s), a Moira pottery  homemade jam jar from England (circa 1980’s), and a Coca Cola** polar bear cookie jar gifted to me by my son from (1990’s).  I’ve added the flowers to represent this century.

I hope Audra enjoys this little painting. Just as soon as the oil paints are dry on this ACEO, this will be sent to Audra. Thank you for Liking my art, Audra!
